EDUCATION: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Education, Data Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
EXPERIENCE:
This position is designated as a dual-track management role; placement on the Certificated or Classified Management Salary Schedule will be determined based on the successful candidate's qualifications and credential status. Minimum of five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in supervision, administration, and curriculum or information technology required; experience in the public school system and site administrative experience preferred. Experience with the selection, implementation, operation and support of enterprise information systems is essential.
CREDENTIAL AND LICENSES:
- Certificated Management: Valid General Administration, Standard Administration, and Administrative Services credential.
- Classified Management: Required for Classified possession of specialized professional certifications in data science, IT management (e.g., PMP, ITIL), or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Valid California Driver’s license and be insurable

Director of Analytics and Data Solutions
JOB SUMMARY
The position of Director of Analytics and Data Solutions directly reports to the Assistant Superintendent of Improvement and Analytics and is responsible for leading the building and maintenance of the district data warehouse and product development, including data visualizations, analytics, research, artificial intelligence integration, and software product development for the end user. This position works closely with Information Technology, Assessment and Accountability, and other district/site administrators in order to collaborate on aspects of data management, analytics, and systems improvement. This position will evaluate personnel as assigned in accordance with district policy and applicable collective bargaining agreements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
(may include, but is not limited to, the following)
• Provides leadership and oversight in the design, development, and maintenance of the district-wide data warehouse to ensure secure, scalable, and efficient data storage and retrieval systems;
• Manages the integration of multiple data sources into the district data warehouse, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and accessibility for stakeholders;
• Integrates artificial intelligence and machine learning tools to enhance data analysis capabilities, enabling predictive insights and automated decision support;
• Conducts advanced data analysis and research to identify trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and inform strategic planning;
• Leads cross-functional teams in the development, deployment, and refinement of software solutions to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency, ensuring alignment with district goals and standards;
• Collaborates with stakeholders to define data requirements;
• Oversees the production and maintenance of products, data dashboards, and visualization tools that support data-driven decision-making;
• Facilitates professional development and training for staff on data systems, tools, and best practices in data literacy and analysis;
• Coordinates with other departments to ensure seamless integration of new technologies and data systems across the organization;
• Assists with planning, coordinating, and monitoring standardized systems for problem identification across the organization, utilizing data for progress monitoring and decision-making;
• Collaborates with district and site administrators to monitor the effectiveness of continuous improvement efforts aligned with Organizational priorities;
• Leads and provides coordination of cross-divisional and internal projects aimed at improving data quality, data visualization, and data routines for analysis;
• Builds project methodology for the purpose of implementing and updating as needed to account for improvements and best practices;
• Provides reports, analytical support, and analysis to identify operational trends and opportunities for improvement;
• Creates narratives and executive summaries of analyzed data to report disaggregated findings for staff, administrators, and the Governing Board;
• Understands and supports the development and implementation of continuous improvement practices, quality procedures, and standardized systems throughout the organization;
• Coordinates and assists with project management, which includes collaboration with and serving as a liaison between departments and school sites to ensure continuity and alignment of data quality and data system designs across the organization;
• Monitors, analyzes, and facilitates conversations on key performance indicators, metrics, and system alignment;
• Provides leadership and fosters a culture of data-focused and continuous improvement approaches;
• Manages and grows staff through selection, orientation, training, performance goal setting, performance review, and staff development;
• Advises, develops, and revises related policies for recommendation to the Governing Board under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Improvement and Analytics;
• Develops, administers, and maintains solvent budgets for all areas of responsibility;
• Attends Board of Education meetings; • Evaluates staff as assigned and where appropriate;
• Assists in resolving complaints about operations;
• Maintains a proactive role regarding all assigned duties; and
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
• Data quality, analytics, and analysis techniques, principles, and practices;
• Design, development, and management of enterprise-level data warehouses;
• Software development methodologies including low-code/no-code and professional coding environments;
• Integration and application of artificial intelligence and machine learning for data analysis and decision support;
• Board and District policies;
• Principles and practices of leadership, management, and supervision of Certificated and Classified staff;
• Training and professional development strategies;
• Technology and computer software applications related to data quality assurance, data visualization, and analytical routines.
ABILITY TO:
Lead the design, development, and management of a district-wide data warehouse that ensures secure, scalable, and efficient access to data for reporting and analysis. They are capable of directing software development initiatives using both low-code/no-code platforms and professional coding practices to deliver innovative, user-centered solutions. They possess the expertise to integrate and apply artificial intelligence and machine learning tools to analyze complex datasets and generate actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.
They are skilled in stimulating and motivating cooperative team efforts while providing visionary and strategic leadership. The candidate is able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, administrators, parents, vendors, and community stakeholders. They work effectively both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams to achieve project goals and organizational objectives. They can analyze complex situations accurately and adopt effective, data-informed courses of action. They manage multiple priorities efficiently, consistently meeting schedules and timelines with minimal supervision. The candidate communicates clearly and persuasively in English, both orally and in writing, and is adept at tailoring communication to diverse audiences.
They are committed to continuous learning and can quickly adopt new technologies and software tools relevant to data systems, visualization, and analysis. They exercise initiative, discretion, and sound judgment in handling confidential matters and resolving issues. The candidate demonstrates cultural and linguistic sensitivity in all interactions and is capable of interpreting, planning, and implementing federal, state, district, and departmental policies and procedures. They are proficient in accessing and utilizing District-adopted web-based systems and platforms for data management and reporting.
