ELOP Attendance Coordinator
Expanded Learning Opportunities Program
JOB SUMMARY
The job of the coordinator, Expanded Learning Opportunities (ELO) Programs is done for the purpose/s of coordinating and providing leadership for the implementation and management of all ELO programs and related activities; providing information to others; and implementing and maintaining services within established guidelines and standards of these programs. Serves as a District liaison with social and legal jurisdictions in matters related to compliance with and enforcement of California Attendance Laws. Serves under the supervision of the Director, Student Support Services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION (may include, but is not limited to, the following)
- Assists in the development of programs and services for the purpose of improving student outcomes in programs linked to the regular instructional day.
- Facilitates and coordinates professional development and in-service for students, staff and parents and informs them of the availability of services and opportunities for at-risk Expanded Learning Opportunity Program (ELOP) students.
- Conducts site visits for the purpose of identifying and responding to technical assistance needs.
- Coordinates with county, district, site principals, administrators, teacher leaders, and community partners, etc. for the purpose of serving as a liaison and resource, identifying training needs and/or coordinating professional development services with districts.
- Initiate and coordinate referrals to the Student Study Team (SST), Student Attendance Review Team (SART), and Student Attendance Review Board (SARB).
- Assist with implementing truancy and chronic absenteeism prevention programs for ELOP students and recommend strategies to support and improve regular student attendance.
- Designs services (e.g. fiscal responsibility, department forecasting, etc.) for the purpose of implementing professional development program activities that address identified training needs.
- Develops plans and data bases for the purpose of ensuring accurate information is reported to the correct entities.
- Maintains a variety of manual and electronic files and/or records (e.g. attendance, surveys, etc.) for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference and complying with regulatory requirements and established guidelines.
- Monitors professional development services (e.g. consultants course outcomes, training staff, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring that performance outcomes are achieved within budget, department, and district objectives.
- Participates in meetings, workshops, trainings, and seminars (e.g. regional meetings with Grantees, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Prepares a wide variety of written materials (e.g. grant management plans, Memoranda of Agreements, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
- Processes documents and materials (e.g. ELO programs, ASES, 21st CCLC, Common Core State Standards, STEM, etc.) for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties.
- Responds to inquiries for the purpose of resolving problems, providing information and/or referring to appropriate personnel.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
Master's Degree or higher degree from an accredited college or university.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience. Previous administrative experience is desired.
CREDENTIAL AND LICENSES:
- Valid General Administration, Standard Administration, and Administrative Services credential.
- Valid California Driver’s license;
- Maintain possession of such license during the course of employment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands: Sit, look downward, reach, (up to frequently); stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, push, pull, foot controls (occasionally); climb stairs, twist (infrequently); repetitive hand activities within close reach, such as files, keyboard & handwriting (frequently); lift/ carry up to 25 pounds (occasionally), may lift/ carry child up to 75 pounds (infrequently); extensive reading; use vision, hearing & speaking (including in-person, phone & public address.)
Working Conditions: Indoor office, outdoor school yard & grounds, driving to different sites. Exposure to: seasonal temperature variations, dust and wind, traffic, food preparation smells, use of office equipment and desk supplies.
