EDUCATION
Completion of a Master’s or higher degree from an accredited college or university, possession of a valid credential, authorizing service as an instructional administrator.
EXPERIENCE
Administrative service experience at site level required. Three years of teaching or related certificated experience. Experience in elementary and secondary schools preferred.CREDENTIALS AND LICENSES:
▪ Must be able to possess a California General Administration, Standard Administration, or Administrative Services credential in California;

Coordinator – Short Term Independent Study/Attendance Recovery
JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Director of Student Support Services, provides leadership and works collaboratively with all sites and departments to implement and monitor Short Term Independent Study attendance recovery activities, Pre K through grade 12. Monitor attendance and coordinate curriculum for short-term independent study to ensure alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment with state content standards, national, state, and local assessments.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
• Work collaboratively with site administrators to ensure students who are absent for extended periods are provided with short-term independent study.
• Provide leadership and training in the use and administration of independent study;
• Work collaboratively with Educational Services and professional development in decisions affecting curriculum, instruction, and assessment;
• Coordinates the scope and sequence of curriculum for all levels of learners, to include English Learners, Students with Disabilities, Gifted and Talented students;
• Monitor Average Daily Attendance (ADA) accounting collaboratively with schools and Business Services;
• Collect student work samples, validate work completed, and verify attendance collected for all short-term independent study contracts;
• Provides leadership in designing the instructional delivery models to best support the curriculum;
• Provides direction in the use of student data management systems to accurately record and access student demographic and assessment results;
• Maintain records and prepare reports to assist auditors in verifying independent study attendance collected;
• Assist sites in using data to better inform instructional decision making;
• Maintain a longitudinal collection of data for required reporting purposes to state and federal agencies and for decision-making functions within the district;
• Prepare a variety of reports, including newsletters, attendance reports, and summary reports for district stakeholders;
• Prepare reports, summaries, analyses as requested;
• Make presentations to the Governing Board, district leadership, and community;
• Attend local and state meetings and professional development to support professional responsibilities.
