Job Description

Coordinator, ELOP Attendance Recovery Program

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide leadership and training in the use and administration ofthe attendance recovery program.;

  • Work collaboratively with site administrators to ensure absent students are informed of and have access to the attendance recovery program.;

  • Will verify that the attendance recovery program meets all audit compliance requirements.

  • Work collaboratively with Educational Services, Business Services, professional development, and other departments in decisions affecting curriculum, instruction, and attendance ;

  • Coordinates the scope and sequence of curriculum for all levels of learners, to include English Learners and Students with Disabilities, 

  • Monitor Average Daily Attendance (ADA) and chronic absenteeism, working collaboratively with schools and Business Services;

  • Document  student  participation and maintain attendance records

  • Track and account for student work time and verify attendance collected for all students participating in attendance recovery work sessions as required by state and local laws, board policy, and administrative regulations. 

  • Provides leadership in designing the instructional delivery models, accounting and tracking systems to support the students best, and the accurate gathering of data, as per the requirements of state law. 

  • Provides direction in using student data management systems to record accurately and access student demographic and attendance recovery data.;

  • Maintain records and prepare reports to assist auditors in verifying attendance recovery data within the requirements of California State law.

  • Assist sites in using data to better inform instructional decision making;

  • Maintain a longitudinal collection of data for required reporting purposes to state and federal agencies and for decision-making functions within the district;

  • Prepare a variety of reports, including newsletters, attendance reports, and summary reports for district stakeholders;

  • Prepare reports and summaries and provide analysis as requested;

  • Make presentations to the Governing Board, district leadership, and community as requested;

  • Attend local and state meetings and professional development to support professional responsibilities;

  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE OF:

  • California attendance and attendance recovery programs;

  • Organization, management, planning, and evaluation strategies, techniques, and procedures;

  • Instructional program, functions and activity planning, forecasting, projecting, auditing, and managing of a variety of information and data management, storage, retrieval, and dissemination systems;

  • Statistical skills;

  • Curriculum and instruction design and delivery systems, including audit and evaluation processes to determine process effectiveness;

  • State and federal accountability systems.

  • State education code, County policy, and regulations

  • HUSD Board policy, Admin Regs, and other HUSD guiding documents

ABILITY TO:

  • Aid in the planning, development, and implementation of budget planning and expenditure control processes and procedures;

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate the ELOP  attendance program;

  • Follow safety procedures and written and verbal instructions;

  • Analyze and assess curriculum needs and offer recommendations pertaining to instructional program revision, additions, or deletions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

The physical requirements indicated below are examples of the physical aspects that this position must perform in carrying out the essential functions listed above.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Sit, look downward, reach, (up to frequently); stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, push, pull, foot controls (occasionally); climb stairs, twist (infrequently); repetitive hand activities within close reach, such as files, keyboard & handwriting (frequently); lift/ carry up to 25 pounds (occasionally), may lift/ carry child up to 75 pounds (infrequently); extensive reading; use seeing, hearing & speaking (including in-person, phone & public address.)

 

WORKING CONDITIONS: Indoor office, outdoor schoolyard & grounds, driving to different sites. Exposure to: seasonal temperature variations, dust and wind, traffic, food preparation smells, use of office equipment and desk supplies.
