To provide students, staff, and community members with a clean, safe, and functional learning environment by performing custodial and minor maintenance duties in district facilities. ________________________________________ Duties and Responsibilities • Maintain cleanliness of classrooms, offices, restrooms, hallways, cafeterias, gymnasiums, and common areas. • Sweep, mop, vacuum, strip, wax, and buff floors as scheduled. • Clean and sanitize restrooms, fixtures, mirrors, and drinking fountains daily. • Empty and dispose of trash and recycling; replace liners as needed. • Dust furniture, fixtures, equipment, and window ledges. • Clean interior and exterior windows, doors, and entryways. • Monitor and restock the restrooms and cleaning supplies. • Ensure safe storage and proper use of custodial equipment, tools, and cleaning chemicals. • Secure buildings and grounds by locking doors and setting alarms when assigned. • Report maintenance issues such as leaks, broken fixtures, or safety hazards to supervisors promptly. • Assist in preparation for special events (set up chairs, tables, bleachers, and other equipment). • Support energy conservation and safety initiatives of the district. • Comply with district policies and safety regulations, including OSHA and MSDS requirements. • Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance. • Perform other related duties as assigned. ________________________________________ Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment. • Ability to follow oral and written instructions. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. • Ability to perform repetitive tasks requiring bending, stooping, climbing, and standing for extended periods. • Ability to interact positively with staff, students, and the public. • Indoor and outdoor environments; exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, noise, and temperature changes. • Evening or weekend work may be required for events or emergencies.
