Position Description

The Speech and Language Service Pathologist (SLP) will assess and provide speech and language therapy for students across all grade levels. S/he/they will focus on developing students’ oral communication skills to support their ability to access their educational program. S/he/they will report directly to the school site Special Education Director.

The SLP’s job responsibilities include:

• Providing direct treatment to students with speech-language impairments;
• Developing and implementing educationally-based IEP communication goals using a variety of service delivery models to support the classroom curriculum;
• Conducting speech and language screenings;
• Following and implementing treatment plans;
• Documenting student progress towards meeting established goals and objectives;
• Conducting formal assessments;
• Writing formal reports discussing and analyzing formal assessment results;
• Participating in IEP meetings of students on assigned caseload;
• Collaborating with teacher to ensure that students meet the goals outlined in their IEPs;
• Providing individualized classroom strategies to facilitate specific communication skills;
• Communicating with families of students on assigned caseload regarding progress toward IEP goals;
• As aligned to our educational model, helping to collect, manage, and analyze academic data to track school performance and student achievement.
• Participating as a member of the regional Special Education team;
• Managing special projects as they relate to Special Education;
• Maintaining ongoing communication with the regional Director of Special Education;
• Other duties as assigned

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Master’s degree from an ASHA accredited university;
• A Valid California Speech-Language Pathologist license/credential;
• A Certificate of Clinical Competency;
• A minimum of one (1) year of experience working with students in a school setting;
• Demonstrated results working with students;
• Knowledge of IEP present levels and goal-writing;
• Knowledge of formal assessments;
• Knowledge of LAUSD procedures (preferred);
• Ability to travel to multiple campuses in close proximity to each other.

 Compensation and Benefits

• Salary Range: $80,000-$95,000
