About This Role:
We are seeking a passionate and creative Art Teacher to join our CWC Silver Lake Middle School team. The Art Teacher serves an important role in bringing our enrichment program to life by sparking joy, imagination, and critical thinking through the visual arts. This educator values students, builds community and a collaborative educator who believes in the power of art to nurture creativity.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver engaging, standard-based art lessons that honor multiple intelligences and diverse artistic traditions

Foster a joyful and inclusive classroom culture rooted in care, community, and student voice

Regularly assess and monitor student progress, using data to inform instruction and provide feedback
-
Collaborate with teachers, school leaders, and enrichment colleagues to integrate art into the broader educational experience
-
Participate in professional learning opportunities, including internal training, external workshops, and cross-school collaboration
-
Model professionalism by meeting deadlines, communicating effectively, and contributing to the school community

Serve as an active member of the CWC LA community, embracing core values of Excellence, Diversity, Authenticity, Community, and Change.

Qualifications:
Required:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
-
California Single Subject Credential in Art
-
Successful completion of the CBEST exam
-
Experience in teaching elementary students and developing art curriculum
Preferred:
-
Experience teaching in socio-economically, racially, and culturally diverse settings
-
Bilingual fluency (Spanish or Korean strongly preferred)
-
Experience supporting English learners and students with special needs
-
Demonstrated commitment to social-emotional learning and restorative practices
