About This Role:
CWC is seeking a dynamic and experienced English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher who is passionate about creating joyful, rigorous learning environments. The ideal candidate is committed to social-emotional development, culturally responsive teaching, and fostering a love for reading and writing through constructivist, project-based approaches.
Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and refine curriculum aligned with Common Core Middle School ELA Standards and multiple intelligences theory.

Deliver engaging lessons in reading, writing, speaking, and listening to support student growth.

Use multiple forms of assessment to monitor progress, inform instruction, and ensure students meet or exceed grade-level expectations.

Use data to differentiate instruction and provide targeted support to individual learners.

Create a positive, inclusive, and culturally responsive classroom culture grounded in social-emotional learning.

Collaborate regularly with colleagues, school leaders, and Teaching Associates.

Maintain proactive and ongoing communication with students’ families.

Participate in professional development, school-wide activities, and community engagement opportunities.

Model professionalism and uphold all deadlines and responsibilities with integrity.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and valid California Single Subject Teaching Credential in English (required)

CLAD or BCLAD certification (preferred)

Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in diverse school settings

Strong classroom management skills and the ability to support both small and large groups
-
Experience with social-emotional learning, community building, and student empowerment
-
Spanish or Korean fluency is a plus
