About This Role:
CWC Mar Vista ("CWC MV") seeking a Teaching Associate/Paraprofessional (TA)—a collaborative, compassionate, and adaptable educator who thrives in a dynamic elementary school setting. Teaching Associates work in partnership with Lead Teachers to implement a high-quality academic program and support a vibrant classroom culture rooted in social-emotional learning, project-based learning, and inclusive practices.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist with daily instruction and adapt learning to meet individual student needs using data and observation.

Contribute to a positive and inclusive classroom culture built on CWC’s social-emotional learning practices.

Engage in professional development opportunities, both internal and external.

Communicate regularly with families and staff in coordination with the Lead Teacher.

Plan and lead activities during meals and recess to foster social and cognitive development.

Facilitate small group lessons in social-emotional learning (SEL) and/or active play.

Collaborate with other Teaching Associates on school-wide events and student support initiatives.

Support school operations and culture by stepping in for classroom coverage or other duties, as needed.

Demonstrate professionalism in all aspects of work—timeliness, reliability, and commitment to CWC’s mission.

Qualifications:
Required:
-
Associate’s degree or higher, or 48 college semester units, or passing CBEST score

Experience working with children in school or enrichment settings
-
Commitment to serving diverse communities
Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree

Progress toward or completion of a California Multiple Subject Credential
-
Fluency in a second language (Spanish or Korean ideal)
