About the Role:
A CWC Occupational Therapist (OT) is an enthusiastic, skilled, and innovative professional who will assess and provide comprehensive occupational services across our Silver Lake and Hollywood campuses. This innovative professional will design therapeutic interventions that celebrate each student’s unique potential while supporting their academic, social-emotional, and functional development. The OT will embrace our constructivist approach, collaborating with our multicultural community to help students become confident, capable citizens of the world. Through creative problem-solving and evidence-based practices, the OT will support students in assessing their educational program while fostering independence, curiosity, and individual responsibility.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and assessments to determine student needs and develop appropriate remediation, instructional plans and strategies

Collaborate with teams to develop and implement IEPs addressing students’ physical and functional needs.

Design and implement a variety evidence-based instructional activities aligned with student’s individualized occupational therapy goals/objectives

Perform occupational therapy screenings

Follow and implement treatment plans

Track service delivery in Welligent on a weekly basis

Implement and modify treatment plans based on student progress and needs

Conduct occupational therapy screenings

Document student progress towards meeting established goals and objectives

Conduct formal assessments
-
Participate in IEP meetings of students on assigned caseload
-
Partner with teachers to ensure that students meet the goals outlined in their IEPs
-
Develop and conduct training opportunities for classroom staff and parents on the role of occupational therapy, normal sensory motor development, and other topics as required

Monitor and evaluate equipment and assistive technology needs for students

Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress toward IEP goals

Collect and analyze student data to track school performance and student achievement in accordance with our educational model
Qualifications & Requirements:
-
Valid California Occupational Therapy License (CBOT) and National Board Certification (NBCOT)

Minimum 1 year experience working with students in an educational setting
-
Demonstrated expertise in IEP development, assessment, and goal-writing
-
Proficiency with Welligent and other SPED related computer programs
-
Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse student populations, including English language learners and students with special needs
-
Knowledge of LAUSD procedures and compliance requirements preferred
-
Strong data collection and progress monitoring skills
-
Strong computer and technology skills, including proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
-
Fluency in a second language (ideally Spanish or Korean) is preferred
-
Ability to manage the ambiguity and multiple priorities inherent in an entrepreneurial environment
