Organization Overview

The mission of Citizens of the World Los Angeles (CWC LA) is to provide a socio-economically, culturally, and racially diverse community of students in Los Angeles with an intellectually challenging, experiential learning environment that develops each student's confidence, potential, and individual responsibility as citizens of the world. CWC schools:

  • Serve a socioeconomically, culturally, and racially diverse community;

  • Develop students’ social and emotional skills to prepare them to lead our communities across lines of difference; and

  • Promote academic rigor through constructivist, project-based learning pedagogy, to support and develop children’s natural intellectual curiosity

 

On an ambitious growth path to serving more than 4,500 students in the upcoming years, CWC LA currently operates five charters:

  • CWC Hollywood (Transitional Kindergarten - 5th Grade, opened in 2010)

  • CWC Silver Lake (Transitional Kindergarten - 8th Grade, opened in 2012)

  • CWC Mar Vista (Transitional Kindergarten - 8th Grade, opened in 2013)

  • CWC West Valley (Transitional Kindergarten - 5th Grade, opened in 2020)

  • CWC East Valley (Transitional Kindergarten - 4th Grade and adding one grade level each year, opened in 2021).

 

CWC LA has a Regional Support Office (“RSO”) that supports all CWC LA schools. We work with our network partners at Citizens of the World Charter Schools (CWC Schools), linking the schools in Los Angeles to CWC schools in other parts of the country (Kansas City and Cincinnati).

Position Overview

CWC LA is looking for a leader with a passion for data and operations in public education.   The Coordinator of Data will collaborate closely with school leaders, teachers, school operations staff, and regional support office staff to ensure all organizational data is highly accurate and all underlying processes are optimized.  The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, an excellent collaborator, a creative problem solver, and have a successful track record working closely with stakeholders throughout an organization.  They should also be closely aligned to the CWC LA vision and contribute to an environment of diversity, equity, inclusion, and anti-racism.  The Coordinator of Data will report to the Director of Data & Analytics and receive additional guidance from the Manager of Data.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

 

Data & Data Systems

  • Supports all organizational data collection processes, including:

    • Shared responsibility for oversight of CWC’s student information system (Aeries) including student and staff data.

    • Managing student data including all demographic information, assessment scores, health records, and other documentation.

    • Work across teams to create and maintain systems ensuring org-wide data quality

  • Manages accounts and permissions, conducts trainings, and provides timely technical support for CWC’s digital learning applications, including Aeries, Clever, NWEA, Forefront, Fountas & Pinnell, Fundations, and others.

  • Collaborates with school leaders and teachers to manage the grading and report card process.

  • Serves as an exemplar in use of key CWC LA tools & applications.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Compliance & Reporting

  • Participate in the completion of all local & state attendance reporting and local compliance reporting (e.g., immunizations, suspensions).

  • Assists in completion of all federal, state, local, and foundation reporting submissions, including Physical Fitness Tests, CALPADS, SARC, & CRDC.

  • Manages student forms and other documentation, including immunization records.

  • Other duties as assigned.







Ideal Candidates Will Have/Be:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 2-4 years of experience with educational data and school operations; school-site experience preferred

  • Experience with CALPADS and student information systems strongly preferred

  • Strong working knowledge in Excel and Google Sheets; Tableau or other business intelligence (BI) tool experience a plus

  • Knowledge of California public school immunization requirements a plus

  • Curious and independent learner with a determination to find the best answer

  • Enthusiasm to problem solve and improve efficiency of existing processes

  • Flexible, optimistic approach, and comfort with change and ambiguity

  • Patient and detail-oriented; cares deeply about ensuring data quality

  • Excellent customer service skills and a joyful teammate

 

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting Salary: $66,560
