Location: Los Angeles, California (Hollywood, Mar Vista, Silver Lake, San Fernando Valley)
Reports to: School Operations Manager

Position Description
The Meal Server is responsible for performing all the duties necessary to execute a successful meal service. They are responsible for set up, break down and clean up of each meal period. They are a visible presence on campus, interacting with staff and students regularly.
Responsibilities

Execute the setup, serving, and breakdown of meals during designated meal periods in accordance with established procedures and schedules

Ensure adherence to food safety standards and hygiene regulations throughout all stages of meal preparation and service

Manage and track supporting documentation, such as meal counts, inventory records, and sanitation logs, to ensure accurate reporting and compliance with school district policies and procedures

Maintain a clean and organized eating area, including tables, chairs, and serving stations, to provide an inviting environment for students and staff
-
Assist in the replenishment of food items and supplies as needed to ensure availability throughout meal periods

Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and address any issues or concerns promptly

Monitor food consumption and assist in minimizing waste by following portion control guidelines and implementing efficient serving practices
-
Operate the Point of Sale (POS) in a manner that is compliant with school guidelines and government compliance regulations

Keep students informed of the scheduled menu and new items while looking for ways to increase breakfast participation, Gets student/customer feedback, (food quality, likes and dislikes) and communicates feedback to management

Provide friendly and courteous service to students, staff, and visitors, answering questions and addressing requests in a professional manner

Collaborate with school administration and nutrition personnel to support compliance with meal program regulations and promote healthy eating habits among students

Support student supervision to ensure orderly lines and student safety

Support main office operations

Additional duties as necessary to prioritize the maintenance of a safe environment, adherence to meal program compliance, and optimization of operational efficiency
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:
-
High School Diploma or GED
-
Minimum of one year of relevant work experience
-
School and/or customer service experience preferred, but not required
-
Understanding of computer software programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Google suite and willingness to learn new software programs
-
Ability to lift/move items up to 40lbs in weight
-
Food Handler’s Certificate (CWC can support an individual in attaining this after becoming employed)
