Qualifications
- High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) Certificate, or California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE) Certificate is required
- 5 year experience involved with the care and cleaning of buildings and facilities in a Charter or Public school setting
- Bilingual English and Spanish
- Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicles Operator’s License
- Possession of the minimum required insurance coverage as mandated by the state of California for operation of a vehicle
- Knowledge of basic cleaning methods, procedures, and techniques
- Knowledge of Waxie Eco-Green cleaning materials, supplies, and equipment
- Knowledge of HVAC Automation systems and mechanical
- Knowledge of safe working methods and procedures
- Ability to supervise and lead the work of others
- Ability to perform moderately medium to heavy manual activities

The Opportunity
Under general supervision, the Custodial Coordinator will report directly to the Facilities Director. The Custodial Coordinator will oversee and support all CNCA custodians by ensuring best cleaning practices are carried out throughout the school year, develop CNCA custodians by providing ongoing 1:1 chemical, machine equipment, and lavatory equipment training. Support the HSO, PNEDG soccer field with high quality cleaning and hygienic services.The Custodial Coordinator will perform other related work as required or assigned that will support CNCA school sites and PNEDG.
Responsibilities
- Plan and supervise the cleaning program of all CNCA and PNEDG sites
- Provide training for new custodial employees
- Maintain, store, inventory, and requisition custodial supplies, keys, maintenance equipment as needed throughout CNCA and PNEDG facilities
- Operate and adjust heating and ventilating equipment for PNEDG and CNCA sites as needed
- Report maintenance work orders to SOMs and Facilities Director
- Coordinates and supports Director of Facilities with vendor access to CNCA and PNEDG sites.
- Assists and supports the Director of Facilities, SOMs, and Lead Custodians with end of year school closure procedures and beginning of the year reopening procedures at all CNCA school sites.
- Confer with superiors regarding care and cleaning problems at CNCA and PNEDG school sites
- Keep records and makes oral and written reports, as required
- Assists and supports Director of Facilities, SOMs, and Lead Custodians with the onboarding process of new CNCA custodians
- Assists and supports the Director of Facilities with developing high-quality professional development opportunities for CNCA custodians on a quarterly basis.
- Provides facility maintenance services for the HSO offices and PNEDG athletic field
- Provides janitorial and facility maintenance services for the PNEDG Soccer field
- Assists and supports the Director of Facilities with transporting assets within the CNCA and PNEDG organization
- Assists and supports the Director of Facilities with creating a outsourced day porter sub pool by actively participating in selection process, onboarding and training.
- Perform pressure washing machine use at CNCA and PNEDG sites where custodians are not able to.
- Ensure outdoor play apparatus, student lunch tables and benches are being sprayed and cleaned with portable back-pack sprayer by school site custodial teams on a weekly basis.
- Perform low leverage paint jobs, drywall repairs, and resolve plumbing issues throughout CNCA and PNEDG facilities.
- Assist the Director of Facilities with floor strip and wax process throughout CNCA school sites.
- May set or manage security and video systems
- Care for landscaping including pruning, planting, watering, maintenance of turf field
